HOW TO RAISE THEM

Monarchs are easy to raise. You just need a mesh

cage, and some milkweed plants.Don't put too many caterpillars in the cage,or they will knock down each

others crysalis. To pupate a caterpillar will spin a silk button,

and then turn around and attach to it.Then it will hang

down in "J" formation for 14 hours. After that the caterpillar

appear to unzip its skin wich takes less than 2 minutes to

happen.Over the next few minutes it will continue

to do its ''pupa dance''.After that the caterpillar

will stay like this for 2 weeks, then the magic

happens.At emergence time the crysalis

will be clear. You can see the butterflies wings. It takes less than a minute for the butterfly to pop out and hang

to dry its wings. You can even let it come on your finger. To start collect the eggs on the milkweed plants. Bring the caterpillars to the mesh cage, and then you can wait for the eggs to hatch .
